Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a reservation?
We strongly suggest calling as far in advance as possibly to make a reservation. We sell out fast.
Our reservation line is 408-472-3292.
We're an intimate, cabaret style theater (always a good seat!) and we are in a City owned building with so many restrictions, we stopped counting. One is seating. We have a very specific number of people we can have in the building. When we sell out at that number, we are not allowed to sell any more seats. Bear with us...we're working on changing that in the near future!

How does "Bring Your Own Dinner" Theater Work?
It's easy! First, make a reservation in advance at 408-472-3292.  Second, our doors open at 6:30pm. Arrive with your food, family and friends. Pay for your tickets at the door and we will show you to your table. Third, enjoy your meal, have some wine and catch up with your guests and enjoy the show starting at 8:00pm.

How do I order a meal from The Milias Restaurant?
We started partnering with The Milias Restaurant in February 2013. You can pre-order a meal from their "Limelight Theater To Go" Menu (please order by noon on the date you are coming). They will bring the meal to the theater at 7:00pm. It's that easy! Their number is 408-337-5100.
Please note you cannot order a meal at the theater, it must be done in advance.

Will I get my own table?

If you are a party of 1, 2 or 3, you will most likely share a table with some other fun patrons. Parties of 4 and above will get their table

What can I bring to eat?

Anything you like! Our guests bring everything from pizza to filet mignon. Whatever you like the most...bring it!

Can I bring a bottle of wine?
Yes, please do. In fact, we are the only theater around where you can do that. We know you like to bring your favorite bottles when dining with your guests. Our patrons have been enjoying wine at our theater since the day we opened. We're proud we started the trend in Gilroy theater! There is a corkage fee of $10.00 per bottle, which is donated back to the Center for the Arts.

Where does the money for corkage and concessions go?
Limelight partners with Gilroy Arts Alliance, the non-profit organization the runs the Gilroy Interim Center for the Arts. They operate and staff all concessions at our shows. The funds go to them to support the operation of the building. Every purchase you make helps to support the arts.

Can I decorate my table when I arrive?
Sure! We encourage creativity. The only rules are no open flames ever (even on birthday cakes...sorry. Again, City rule.) and decorations do not block the view of other guests.

Is there parking?
There is a beautiful, parking lot right next to the Center. Handicap parking is available and it is very well lit.

Do I pay for my ticket on line, over the phone or at the door?
Always at the door. Our philosophy is...life happens. Sometimes the best of plans don't work out for various reasons. If you can't make it, just call and let us know. No charge. No fees. But, you will get an invitation to come back another night.

What if I want to come for the show only?
Never a problem. Just let us know when you make a reservation and you will still have a table waiting for you. Plan to arrive by 7:45pm.

Do you offer large group discounts?
Yes, we do. If you have a group of 20 or more, we're happy to offer a discount on ticket price.

Can my organization  book the entire theater for a night?
Absolutely! Make it a fun night out for clients, family, or other special people you work with or know. It can be a fundraiser or just a
"thank you night" for clients. We make it affordable and offer a stylish evening with a quality show. Call us for more information.

Will you be doing Children's Theater?
Our goal is to continue creating a niche that didn't exist in Gilroy. There are so many wonderful theater programs for children in our area, like South Valley Civic Theater (www.SVCT.org), that we don't want to reinvent programs that exist in great number. We love kids, but we are a theater for adult actors, even though we often act like kids.

What kind of shows do you do?
Our shows range from an "all out comedy laugh fest" to a "dramatic comedy" to a cabaret musical experience. We like to challenge our actors and audiences with scripts that go a little deeper. You'll laugh and sometimes you'll cry, but you will always enjoy an evening (or matinee) of talented performers and a storyline that is often as real as it is entertaining. We've been honored to hear patrons tell us they felt like they were seeing a show in San Jose or San Francisco.
